New golf course project between Tiger Woods, Mike Trout expected to get final approval this week

Backers of Trout National – The Reserve are teed up for final city approval for the 18-hole, championship-style golf course proposed for 281 or so acres in East Vineland.

The project got its preliminary approval from city planners last summer. Since then, ground-shaping and construction activities have started including erecting segments of a planned 4.5 miles of tall perimeter walls.

The Planning Board is holding a special meeting for a final review and vote at City Hall on Thursday night, Feb. 29. The final plans basically stick to what was agreed to last summer, city Principal Engineer Ryan Headley said recently.

NEP Real Estate of Vineland NJ Urban Renewal LLC is the landowner. The goal is an operating course in 2025, but a long-term total of nine phases of construction.

Tiger Woods is partnering with Mike Trout in the development and providing the design team. The golf superstar has made a few visits to the under-construction course recently to check on its progress.

Features of the golf course are to include the following.

  • A 35,015-square-foot clubhouse with a 2,765-square-foot pro shop
  • A 2,622-square-foot garage
  • A 1,250-square-foot owner’s garage
  • A 7,641-square-foot golf performance/training center
  • Two, 10,182-square-foot private lodges
  • A 22,046-square-foot private lodge
  • A 1,105-square-foot comfort station
  • A 386-square-foot gatehouse
  • Two pump houses
