A ceremony will take place at Parc des Princes this weekend for Kylian Mbappe to say goodbye to PSG fans.
According to sources from French newspapers L’Équipe and Le Parisien, a farewell ceremony for Kylian Mbappe will take place at the weekend. This small event will be held at Parc des Princes when PSG welcomes Toulouse in the penultimate round of Ligue 1 at dawn on May 13 (Vietnam time). Mbappe will say goodbye to the fans.
Over the past months, the relationship between him and the team’s fans has ceased to be cohesive. They were disappointed when Mbappe did not renew with the club. Even the coaching staff limited the use of this player in Ligue 1 matches.
The French striker’s contract will expire in June, but the two sides decided not to extend it. He will leave his hometown club in the summer transfer window on a free transfer after 7 years of service.
Although no official announcement has been made, his next destination is likely to be Real Madrid. The France international is said to have agreed to join the La Liga giants in December.
The match against Toulouse will also be the last time Mbappe plays at Parc des Princes in the capital team’s shirt. With PSG eliminated from the Champions League, Mbappe’s final match will be the Coupe de France final against Lyon.
Mbappe joined PSG at the age of 18 in 2017. During that time, this player has risen to become a prominent star in world football. He is currently PSG’s all-time top scorer with 255 goals in 306 matches.
He has won 6 Ligue 1 titles and 3 Coupes de France, including winning 4 domestic cups in the 2019-2020 season with the French club. Also in that peak football season, Mbappe brought PSG to their first UEFA Champions League final, but lost to Bayern Munich.
