Miles Gonzalo Morales is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is one of the characters known as Spider-Man, having been created in 2011 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, with input by Marvel’s then-editor-in-chief Axel Alonso. Miles Morales first appeared in Ultimate Fallout #4 (August 2011), following the death of Peter Parker. The character was the main protagonist in the Academy Award-winning 2018 animated feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, in which he is voiced by Shameik Moore, as well as its 2023 and 2024 sequels.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis stated in 2014 that he favored adapting Miles Morales into a feature film in some way, as did actor Andrew Garfield, who played Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man films. Producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach indicated in 2014 that they did not intend to have Miles or any other character replace Peter Parker in the role.
