Bronny James Considers Several Invitations to Workout Before NBA Draft

Bronny James has worked out for the Lakers and Suns, but more NBA teams might be in play.

Bronny James, a potential draft pick for the Los Angeles Lakers, is considering workouts with several other NBA teams as the draft approaches.

According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, Bronny is evaluating additional workout invitations from various teams.

“Bronny’s agent Rich Paul told The Stein Line that there are ‘a few more’ invites under consideration they are still evaluating for potential workouts,” wrote Stein. “James, who turns 20 in October, is projected to be a second-round pick on Day 2 of the draft later this month on June 27.”

Standing at 6-foot-1, Bronny has already worked out for the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers have the 17th and 55th picks, while the Suns hold the 22nd pick. Despite being selective about in-person visits, Bronny’s team is now open to more opportunities.

Currently, Bronny is seen as a second-round prospect. Jonathan Wasserman, Bleacher Report’s NBA draft expert, predicts the Lakers might select him with their 55th overall pick.

“Rival teams sound uncertain about Bronny James’ chances of getting drafted, though the Los Angeles Lakers remain the popular guess as to his most likely destination,” said Wasserman. “If he’s still on the board deep into the second round, L.A.’s front office could feel pressure to select him, considering it’s essentially a risk-free pick that late, and passing at No. 55 would signal to LeBron how little the team thinks of Bronny.”

Bronny’s camp has made it clear that he won’t sign a two-way contract, setting a firm stance unusual for a potential second-round pick. As the draft date nears, it’s uncertain where Bronny will land, but the Lakers remain a strong possibility.
