Kalki 2898 AD Trailer – Hindi | Prabhas | Amitabh Bachchan | Kamal Haasan | Deepika | Nag Ashwin

“A new world will rise.” Damn!! Fire this up right away – it’s a must watch. An incredible full trailer has dropped for an epic Indian sci-fi movie called Kalki 2898-AD. We first posted about this movie about a year ago when the first teasers debuted at SDCC. Now it has a final release date set – June 27th worldwide (so, everywhere, hopefully?!) – and one amazing new official trailer to enjoy. This is apparently India’s most expensive movie ever made; it really does look like they spared no expensive making it massive & exciting. Plot details are sparse so far, but it’s a Hindu religion inspired epic story with imagery that is reminiscent of Villeneuve’s Dune. In Kalki 2898 AD, Indian mega star Prabhas plays a modern-day embodiment of Lord Vishnu who arrives to help save Earth and protect it from evil forces. Directed By Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Amitabh BachchanDeepika PadukoneKamal Hassan, & Disha Patani. There’s tons of extra footage in this new trailer compared to the last one, and the VFX are looking pretty good and pretty Dune-y. This might be a proper movie to catch in theaters! Here’s the main official trailer (+ new poster) for Nag Ashwin’s film Kalki 2898 AD, direct from YouTube:

You can rewatch the inital teaser trailer for Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD right here, for the first look again.

“When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will rise.” Kalki 2898-AD will transport audiences to a world never seen before in Indian cinema. The new movie is set in 2898 AD, offering an unparalleled and immersive cinematic experience. A modern-day avatar of Vishnu, a Hindu god, who is believed to have descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces. Kalki 2898-AD, formerly known as the secretive Project K, is both written and directed by up-and-coming Indian filmmaker Nag Ashwin, director of the films Mahanati and Yevade Subramanyam previously, plus one episode of “Pitta Kathalu”. It’s produced by C. Ashwini Dutt and Swapna Dutt. This is apparently the most expensive Indian film ever made (and most expensive non-English film other than from China or France) at around ~$72M USD (converted). Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD will open in theaters *worldwide* starting on June 27th, 2024 this summer. Who’s down?
