Neymar travelled from Paris to Riyadh in the world’s most luxurious Boeing 747-400 ahead of his £86.3 million transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
The 31-year-old is set to be unveiled as an Al Hilal player at the King Fahd International Stadium on Saturday after he penned a two-year deal worth £2.5 million per-week.
As well as an eye-watering wage, the former Barcelona and PSG made some incredible demands ahead of his move to the Middle East, according to Spanish outlet Cope.
Neymar reportedly asked for a 25-room mansion, a sauna and swimming pool, eight workers to keep the house tidy, nine cars and all expenses paid for travel, restaurants and hotels.
Whether those terms were agreed or not is unclear, but we do know that the Brazil international made the trip from Paris to Saudi’s capital Riyadh in Prince Al Waleed bin Talal’s Boeing 747-400.
It is said the plane, believed to be worth $220 million [£172 million], originally had 400 passenger seats but they were later replaced by a number of luxury items, including a dining room for 14 people, several bedrooms and a golden throne.
Earlier this week, Neymar revealed the motives behind his big-money move to Al Hilal.
“I have achieved a lot in Europe and enjoyed special times, but I have always wanted to be a global player and test myself with new challenges and opportunities in new places,” he said.
“I want to write new sporting history, and the Saudi Pro League has tremendous energy and quality players at the moment.
“I have heard a lot and learned that I am following a long list of Brazilian players who have played in Saudi Arabia over the years, so I believe it is the desired place.”
Neymar continued: “Al Hilal is a giant club with fantastic fans, and it is the best in Asia. This gives me a feeling that it is the right decision for me at the right time with the right club.
“I love winning and scoring goals, and I plan to continue doing that in Saudi Arabia and with Al Hilal.”
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also commented on the Brazilian’s departure from PSG, saying: “It’s always hard to say goodbye to a player as exceptional as Neymar, one of the best in the world.
“I will never forget the day he arrived at Paris Saint-Germain and what he brought to our club and the project over the past six years.
“We have lived great moments and Neymar will always be part of our history. I want to thank Neymar and his family. We wish Neymar all the best for the future and his next adventure.”
