Premier League Team Of The Week: Chelsea Dominate After A Big Win With 3 Blues Stars In The Team

With the conclusion of another week of fixtures, it’s time for Flashscore’s Premier League Team of the Week – based off of our player rating system.

Wolves picked up their first win of the season after beating Everton 1-0 in a result that could prove to be crucial in both club’s battle for survival.

Goalkeeper Jose Sa made a major contribution to their victory, making seven saves to ensure that the visitors came away with all three points.

His performances earned him a superb rating of 9.0 – the third highest of any player in the division.

DEF – Malo Gusto, 8.4 (Chelsea)

Malo Gusto is one of three Chelsea players to make the Team of the Week after their comfortable 3-0 win against Luton.

Deputising for the injured Reece James, the defender provided two assists on his home debut and contributed defensively on the rare occasion that the visitors ventured forward.

The youngster is definitely one to watch over the coming weeks as his minutes look set to increase.

A second appearance in the Team of the Week already for Joachim Andersen, who was crucial at both ends of the pitch during Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw against Brentford.

The Dane was described by manager Roy Hodgson as “colossal” at the back while also contributing in attack, netting the equaliser to ensure Palace came away with something from the match.

His 9.3 player rating was the highest out of any player in the division over the weekend.

DEF – Willy Boly, 8.0 (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United despite leading 2-0 after just four minutes, although defender Willy Boly still put in a solid display.

He was good defensively even after his side went down to ten men and even netted the second goal – a well-placed header from a Forest freekick.

DEF – Pascal Gross, 8.2 (Brighton)

Despite suffering a shock 3-1 home loss to West Ham, Brighton created plenty of chances and won’t be too displeased with their overall performance – on another day they could have scored four or five.

Pascal Gross had a great game for the Seagulls and bagged himself a goal to become the club’s all-time leading goal scorer in the Premier League.

MID – Raheem Sterling, 8.8 (Chelsea)

Raheem Sterling shone as Chelsea finally picked up their first win of the season against Luton.

The winger was the best player on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, where he scored twice and provided an assist to prove he still has a lot to offer in a new-look side under Mauricio Pochettino.

Bruno Fernandes excelled in United’s comeback victory against Forest, setting up the equaliser and then scoring the winner from the penalty spot.

His creative influence was evident throughout the match and the goal will give him a much-needed confidence boost for the season ahead.

MID – Jarrod Bowen, 8.3 (West Ham)

West Ham provided the shock of the weekend with their 3-1 win against Brighton and winger Jarrod Bowen was one of the main contributors.

He scored and got an assist to ensure the Hammers came away with all three points despite being under immense pressure for long periods of the game.

MID – Pedro Neto, 8.1 (Wolves)

Pedro Neto provided the assist for Wolves’ winner against Everton, a result that could be pivotal to their season.

Many expect Gary O’Neil’s side to struggle but they will be full of confidence after recording their first win of the campaign – with Neto playing a huge role in securing all three points.

FWD – Nicolas Jackson, 8.0 (Chelsea)

The third and final Chelsea player to make the Team of the Week is Nicolas Jackson, who netted his first goal for the Blues in their win against Luton.

Aside from his well-earned goal, Jackson was a thorn in Luton’s side throughout the match and caused plenty of issues for the visitors.

His performance and goal will set him up nicely for the coming games as Chelsea’ confidence continues to build.

AFPFWD – Kevin Schade, 7.8 (Brentford)

Kevin Schade opened the scoring in Brentford’s draw against Crystal Palace, firing in an incredible effort after gliding past two defenders.

That was the German’s first Premier League goal; and he will be called upon plenty more times until star striker Ivan Toney can make his return.
