Sweet Goose Becomes The Nanny Of Her Bestie’s Puppies

A friendship among species is always a sight for sore eyes. Interspecies friendships never cease to amaze us. Usually, animals see a difference in species, and they react differently than how they would react to an animal of the same species, and sometimes it can be a hostile reaction. But you maybe surprised to find that the answer to “can a goose and a dog get along?” is “yes, it is possible”.

In this particular story, the goose and the dog have a unique friendship that will surely warm your heart. It is said that the goose has been rescued by the owner of the dog when it was very little. And the owner expresses that their bond only grew stronger with time. After a few months, the dog had given 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to 6 puppies and as her friend, the goose helps to look after the tiny puppies. The goose even keeps the tiny puppies warm while they sleep cuddling one another.

But having both geese and dogs as pets can sometimes be challenging and if you are planning on having both a goose and a dog as pets, you might want to take a moment to consider these facts.

Instinctually, geese are afraid of wolves and foxes and geese see dogs as similar creatures. So naturally, they don’t get along. Most geese are friendly and may bond with you as much as a dog will and their behavior is entertaining to watch.

Your pet might have never lashed out or gotten aggressive, but it doesn’t mean that they will act in the same manner when a new member is introduced to the family. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the behavior of both the pets and stay alert for signs of aggression like dogs baring teeth, growling and barking, etc. in order to avoid conflicts between both the pets.

Geese can be bossy and territorial. It is also important to never underestimate a pet, as each pet will assume that it is your only pet and your favorite pet. Both the animals will come to you and they will require equal attention and if one senses that you are not paying enough attention to it compared to the other, it will react negatively and will not like it.
