Jason Statham found himself in a sticky situation today when he arrested in New York.

Fans shouldn’t worry though, as Statham was just filming a scene for his new movie Safe.

In the scene, the British action star was unceremoniously hustled into a police car.

And the 38-year-old looked more like a dock worker than a hardman in his grey hat and T-shirt and baggy hoodie.

But he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself, frequently laughing and joking around in between takes.

Safe is the story of a former elite agent who rescues an abducted 12-year-old Chinese girl.

He then find himself caught in the middle of a standoff between Triads, the Russian Mafia and corrupt New York City politicians and police.

Statham recently starred as Lee Christmas in The Expendables, another action role.

The actor is currently dating Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

And it looks as if he’s completely smitten with 23-year-old Rosie, is currently filming Transformers 3, in a role she took over from Megan Fox.

The couple were seen walking around New York on Sunday, and Statham could barely keep his hands off the leggy blonde.

Statham shot to fame after his role in Guy Ritchie’s Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and the Transporter films.

He is also about to start promotional duties for two high profile movies he has coming up:13, and The Killer Elite.

13 is a thriller due out this autumn, and co-stars Ray Liotta and 50 Cent.

In the film, a naive young man who takes on a dead man’s identity and finds himself mixed up in an underground world of power, violence, and chance where men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men.

The Killer Elite co-stars Robert De Niro is an action thriller about a former Navy SEAL who is forced out of retirement in order to save his friend.
