Manchester United Ready To Offer Antony In Part-Exchange For Flamengo Forward Gabriel Barbosa

United target Brazil striker BarbosaManchester United are ready to send Antony to Brazil in part-exchange for Flamengo forward Gabriel Barbosa, according to the Mirror.

“Manchester United want Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa in January and are willing to offer Antony in part exchange on loan,” the paper states.

“Barbosa, 27, who has scored 18 goals for top-flight Flamengo this term in all competitions, is available at a discounted £20million as his contract is up at the end of 2024. His club Flamengo are also interested in taking Barbosa’s Brazilian compatriot Anthony off United’s hands on loan in part exchange for the forward, who has five goals in 18 caps for his country.

“Antony, 23, who cost £82m from Ajax in 2022, is yet to score this term and has only featured 11 times amid a troubled season following allegations of domestic abuse. He is under contract until 2027 though making a permanent exit unlikely.”

Everton takeover approaches completion

777 Partners have cleared another barrier as they approach taking control of Everton with a proposed takeover.

“Everton’s prospective new owners have been given the all-clear from the Football Association to assume executive leadership roles at the Merseyside club once their takeover is complete,” explains The Telegraph.

“The co-founders of 777 Partners, Josh Wander and Steven Pasko, have completed the first in a series of hurdles required for their Everton buy-out as the FA has ruled the duo are qualified to join the board of directors when they have bought the Merseyside club.

“However, the Miami-based firm must still pass the Premier League owners’ test – that is an ongoing situation – and the process of buying out majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is still to be ratified.’

Four players set for MLS switch

Four big names in world football are set to move to MLS as they approach the end of their current contracts, according to reports.

“Olivier Giroud, Antoine Griezmann, Luka Modric and Luis Suarez have been linked with MLS moves within the next year,” writes the Mail.

“Suarez, in particular, is close to joining his pal, Lionel Messi, at Inter Miami, as soon as this winter, after the expiration of his contract, which was shortened because of lingering knee issues, with Brazilian side Gremio.

“MailSport previously reported that an agreement has been reached between the 36-year-old Uruguayan striker and The Herons, this week.

“Giroud, on the other hand, has been rumored with a free transfer to the U.S. since the start of the 2022-23 Serie A season, as he’s in his last year of a two-year deal with AC Milan, for whom he scored a brace against Napoli (2-2) last month.

“Next up: Luka Modric. The Croatian is believed to be unhappy with the game time he’s been given at Real Madrid this season.

“Lastly, Antoine Griezmann has flirted with the idea of ending his career in America for a while, now.”

Milan consider Kiwior swoop

AC Milan are keen on signing Jakub Kiwior in January as a response to their mounting defensive injury crisis.

“Jakub Kiwior could be set to make his Arsenal exit less than a year after joining the club,” The Sun writes.

‘The central defender was brought by the Gunners in a £21million transfer last January.

‘Since joining he has made just 14 appearances, ten of which have come in the Premier League.

“Some of these have even come at left-back as he filled in for injured stars earlier this season.

“And it is this lack of minutes which has put him on the radar of Italian giants AC Milan.

“The Rossoneri are in the middle of an injury crisis at centre-back, with Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu the latest to be sidelined.

“This has led boss Stefano Pioli to consider a January recruit.”
