After suffering 3 rejections, brilliant Nigerian lady finally bags masters degree with distinctions at US university

A young Nigerian lady named Olamide Ogundele has fought back successfully to graduate from Missouri State University, United States with a distinction grade master’s degree after she was rejected three times in an attempt to study in the United States.

Olamide obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry with an outstanding 3.95 over 4.00 cumulative grade point at Missouri State University. NBarrating her story on Linkedin, She said she is sharing her achievement with a heart full of gratitude.

She stated that before getting into graduate school, she applied during four admission seasons without getting any acceptance email adding that her first two trials were near misses but the third was a total rejection.

Olamide said it was on the fourth try after she had restrategized that she earned acceptance from three universities in the United States but she settled for Missouri State University.

”Before getting into grad school, I applied during four admission seasons without getting any acceptance email, the first two attempts were mere near misses, but the third? Oh, that one hit me so hard, I didn’t shed tears, I WAAAAILED,” she said.

Olamide mentioned that she spent two years at the university in the course of earning her master’s degree. She added that her two-year academic journey was graceful and impactful.

She earned her master’s degree with an outstanding distinction and also received eight awards for her brilliant performance. Olamide received the Advance Science Student grant, the Three-minute Thesis competition winner, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center Award.

She was also awarded the Robert S Christie Memorial Scholarship, Chemistry Department Graduate Scholarship, Outstanding Poster Presentation, Advancing Science Student Grant, and the Delta Corteva Agriscience Travel Award.

Olamide expressed her gratitude to her friends and her family who encouraged her during her graduate school process. She also thanked her student advisor for the support.

Olamide bagged her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun in Nigeria.
