With the 2024 NBA Draft a little over a month away, teams across the association are beginning to work out various prospects to see if they could be a potential fit for their roster.
Former Duke Star guard Jared McCain is reportedly among the six draft prospects working out for the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, per Jason Dumas of KRON4.
Duke News: Jared McCain Reportedly Working Out With Golden State Warriors
Warriors will begin their pre-draft workouts on Thursday. The six-player group is headlined by Adama Bal of Santa Clara and Jared McCain of Duke.
Other working out:
- Chibuzo Agbo, Boise St
- Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern
- Dillon Jones, Weber St
- Gabe McGlothan, Grand Canyon
McCain announced in April that he would forego his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft after only one season at Duke.
The 6-foot-3 guard had a stellar freshman season at Duke, averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 31.6 minutes per game. McCain also shot 46.2 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from beyond the arc on 5.8 attempts per game, making him one of the better three-point shooters in the country this past season.
The former Duke Blue Devil star guard is projected to be a lottery pick based on his three-point shooting, playmaking, and defense.
McCain took his game to another level in the NCAA tournament, scoring 21 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. The Blue Devil guard also showed aggressiveness on the boards, recording 5.8 rebounds per game.
With the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery only a few days away, we should get a better picture of which teams will bring in McCain for workouts as he has a chance to maybe go top-10 with this year’s draft class not being the strongest.
