Anne Hathaway appeared to be in fits of uncontrollable laughter as she arrived at the Cannes photocall for her new film Armageddon Time, and let’s face it, we’ve all been there.
The 39-year-old actress looked stunning in a black mini dress with a Barbarella-style blue PVC bustier, which she teamed with a pair of silver platforms as she arrived for the shoot with co-star Jeremy Strong.
She also sported a pair of vintage-style sunglasses which she removed as she posed for photographers with her cast members.
In some of the pics, Hathaway could be seen covering her mouth to conceal her amusement before smiling and covering her entire face, and although we applied our best investigative journalism to find out the source of her entertainment, we failed.
The star was promoting her new movie, which is an autobiographical coming-of-age drama about growing up in Queens in the 1980s, written and directed by James Gray.

Newcomer Banks Repeta plays a young Gray whose relationship with his ailing grandfather, played by Oscar winner Sir Anthony Hopkins, ‘provides an overwhelming window into the Jewish diaspora and hope for a future of his own,’ according to Variety.
The film premiered at Cannes earlier this week and received a standing ovation that lasted seven minutes, the publication also reported, which saw Hathaway and Gray burst into tears.
‘I’m deeply emotional,’ Gray told the audience. ‘It’s my story, in a way, and you guys shared it with me.’
Jessica Chastain plays a small role as Donald Trump’s sister, which was originally going to be played by Cate Blanchett.

Meanwhile, the star also stars opposite Jared Leto in the Apple TV+ series WeCrashed, based on the rise and fall of WeWork, the hedonistic US co-working dream of serial entrepreneur Adam Neumann and his supernova-spouting wife Rebekah.

On getting into the complex role of Rebekah, Hathaway said: ‘When I was approaching playing Rebekah I spoke to a few people who knew her, and the word that kept coming up when I said, “So what’s she like?” was sweet.
‘Of all the adjectives that I was expecting sweet was not one of them. I thought, “God, this is a really, really complicated person.” And I respect that.’
