After unexpectedly crossing paths on social media, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have grown to become one of Hollywood’s most fan-favourite romances.
Reflecting on their love story, Nick previously told Entertainment Tonight, “I knew once we locked in together that I had a partner for life and a teammate. Someone I could walk through the good times and the bad times with, and that was the key.”
It was love at first sight for the couple, with Nick proposing just one month after he and Priyanka went public with their relationship.
As Nick and Priyanka celebrate five years of marriage, we take a look back at their star-studded romance.
How did Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas meet?
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra first met on social media in September 2016 after Nick slid into Priyanka’s Twitter DMs.
“I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet,” Nick wrote, with Priyanka replying, “My team can read this. Why don’t you just text me?”
The duo reportedly continued to exchange flirty texts back and forth before finally crossing paths with one another at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
When did Priyanka Chopra start dating Nick Jonas?
During the couple’s first meeting, Nick told Vogue that he immediately got down on one knee in front of Priyanka before telling her, “You’re real. Where have you been all my life?”
Just over three months later, Nick and Priyanka made their red carpet debut in May 2017 at the Met Gala. Speaking on their appearance, Priyanka deflected any rumours of their potential romance, telling Jimmy Kimmel, “We were both wearing Ralph Lauren and decided to go together. It was fun. We were at the same table, so we were just like, ‘Hey, let’s go together.”
While the couple kept the early days of their romance out of the public eye, rumours surrounding the couple began to resurface in May 2018 after Nick and Priyanka were spotted by fans attending a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game over Memorial Day weekend.
Over a week later, the couple were seen together on a dinner date in West Hollywood, with a source telling People, “They were very affectionate with each other and seemed to not care who saw. Priyanka ran her hands through his hair at one point and they were laughing and even dancing to the music.”
After many months of flirting back and forth in one another’s Instagram comments, Priyanka and Nick confirmed their relationship on Instagram in June 2018, with Nick sharing a now-deleted video of Priyanka captioned “Her 😍.”
