Now, it seems that Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez may be ready to take their relationship to the next level. Earlier this week, Rodriguez shared an interesting update on her Instagram stories that immediately had her 56.7 million followers speculating about a potential wedding ceremony. The white and gold invite carried an undeniably festive aesthetic, and featured the word “announcement”, followed by a letter with a heart emoji and “& Georgina Rodriguez”. Below the name, the digital invite included a date and time, stating “2024, Tue, 05, Mar at 7.00pm, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia”. While Cristiano Ronaldo’s name wasn’t mentioned in the invite, many believe that the emoji of the heart-stamped letter signifies the name of the sports pro, and the fact that Ronaldo also shared the same post on his own page had fans crossing their fingers for a big celebrity wedding.
In the past, Ronaldo has spoken about his marriage plans with Rodriguez, stating that tying the knot wasn’t off the table for the duo. “[Marriage is] something that’s not in my plans now, but in the future, I do want to,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan in an interview in 2022. “I can see in the future that I think I deserve it, she deserves it.”
For the uninitiated, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez first met in 2016 at a Gucci boutique in Madrid, where Rodriguez was serving as a shop assistant. The duo fell in love and began their relationship in 2017, and have been going strong ever since. When Ronaldo made his move to Saudi Arabia, Rodriguez made sure to relocate to the Middle East to support her partner, and earlier this week, the 30-year-old also topped trending charts at the Vetements Paris Fashion Week show, where she walked the runway in a bold red ‘Ronaldo 7’ dress featuring the player’s autograph.
