Kyrie Irving And Fred VanVleet Are “At The Top” Of The Free Agent Options For The Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, and there’s no doubt that this is going to cause some changes in the roster. It is clear that they’re not good enough currently to win the championship.

One of the ways that the Los Angeles Lakers could improve is via free agency. A recent report revealed that point guards Kyrie Irving are “at the top” of potential options for the team this upcoming off-season.

It will be interesting to see if the Los Angeles Lakers will manage to land either of those players. Kyrie Irving has been frequently linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, and recent reports also indicated that LeBron James wants the point guard as the third star on the team.

Fred VanVleet would definitely be a good option for the team, as he is an experienced veteran and former All-Star. There’s no doubt that he could provide a more steady presence at the PG position for the team than their current options.

Hopefully, we see the Lakers get one of their preferred options. It is clear that the team is looking at every avenue to improve, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.

D’Angelo Russell Might Not Re-Sign With The Lakers

It is easy to see why the Los Angeles Lakers will be looking for options at the PG position. D’Angelo Russell did not play well in the postseason, and a recent report suggested that he will not be back with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“D’Angelo Russell was a shell of himself in these playoffs. I don’t think we’ll see D’Angelo Russell back with the Lakers. They can use a point guard that can create his own shot and I think LeBron wants to fade more into the role as a secondary scorer and playmaker.”

The Lakers’ offense often got stagnant in the playoffs, and it makes sense for the team to focus on point guards that have the ability to create their own shot. However, there are other good options for the team as well such as Draymond Green, and we’ll see what the team decides to go with. Rob Pelinka is one of the best GMs in the league, and the team can definitely rely on him to right the ship.
