Some animals are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 with unusually large ears, much as in the Disney film Dumbo, and what makes them unique also makes them incredibly precious. Big-eared creatures may win hearts all across the globe and even make history.
Now, one goat with ridiculously large ears is causing a stir – and he’s desperate to achieve a world record, even if it means breaking one.
Simba, a new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 goat from Karachi, Pakistan, has made a name for himself in his native country because to a remarkable and eye-catching feature: he has gigantic ears that measure 54 cm, or nearly 22 inches.
According to Simba’s owner, goat rancher Mohammad Hasan Narejo, this unusual 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 has become a media phenomenon in Pakistan. He told AFP that Simba gained heights of popularity that most celebrities only dream of in a month, as well as extraordinary attention.
“He has made not only me, but Pakistan, proud,” Mohammad told AFP.
“Within 10 to 12 days of his 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, he was already appearing in all of the national and international media – and he won a beauty contest.”
Mohammad claims Simba has the longest ears of any goat on the planet and wants to make it official. Unfortunately, there is no category in Guinness World Records for “Longest Goat Ears.”
However, the owner claims that he has been working with Guinness to verify the record: “They have accepted our application.” “A team from the Guinness Book of World Records will be here in Pakistan in 10 to 12 weeks to measure its ears,” he informed the Times of India.
Guinness does have records for the largest dog ears, longest rabbit ears, longest bat ears, and even the longest human ear hair, so they could easily establish a new category for Simba.
But, as he waits to be welcomed into the record books, Simba is having the time of his life, reveling in the spotlight and becoming a local superstar. His amazing ears are covered by special harnesses, and Mohammad takes certain spiritual precautions to ensure his goat’s safety.
“We recite Quranic verses and blow on him to cast away the evil eye,” he said to AFP. “We have fastened a black thread around him that is fortified with Quranic verses, following a long tradition we inherited from our elders.”
Simba is currently apparently enjoying a “pampered existence” in Karachi, and the owner believes Simba’s celebrity is just getting started.
“Simba’s Pakistan name must be known all over the world,” Mohammad remarked.
