It’s been a fantastic rookie season for Arizona Diamondbacks rookie Corbin Carroll.
The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Francisco Giants on Monday night by a score of 4-3 in 11 innings.
It was a critical win for Arizona, which has fallen from first to third place in the National League West.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had two hits in the win while Ketel Marte got the game-winner in the top of the 11th.
Rookie Corbin Carroll also went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base, continuing the history-making start to his career.
Corbin Carroll reached 25 HR and 35 SB in his first 134 career games, the 2nd-fewest needed by any player to debut since 1900. Mike Trout needed 128 games.

The rookie is hitting .281 this season with 21 homers and 33 steals. He’s added 58 RBI. Carroll debuted last season, getting four home runs and two steals in limited action.
He was named to the All-Star team this season and is a heavy favorite to win National League Rookie of the Year.
After the win, the Diamondbacks are now 3.5 games back in the West. The loss caused the Giants to fall to 2.5 games back.
In the wild card, the Giants own the top spot currently while the Diamondbacks are tied for the last spot with the Marlins and Brewers.
Arizona is buying ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline as they look for a playoff push. They acquired reliever Paul Sewald and infielder Jace Peterson on Monday.
