The miracle of life: A 9-month-old twin has been surgically separated to give hope for a bright future.
A 24-hour intensive operation separated 9-month-old twins Adiigail and Micaela Bachinskiy. Although historical surgery seems impossible at first, God has put his hand on these two precious girls!
When she was 11 weeks pregnant, Lilia milos Nick’s doctor discovered something unique about her daughter. They are craniopagus twins, which means their heads are stuck together.
Dr Michael Edwards, chief pediatric neurosurgeon at the Children’s Hospital of the University of California, Sacramento, said: “This is a very rare anomaly. “Few people in the world suffer from this abnormality in a year, and only a much smaller surgical group is random enough to try to separate, and wants me to date two healthy people. Yes
At first, the news that a pair of twins appeared in Lilia’s mind surprised her when she was three years old. But her husband, Anatoliy Bachinskiy, reassured her.
“This is very difficult. I’m surprised. I couldn’t handle it, “Lilia recalled. “When I got home, my husband and I told him that everything would be all right. We will overcome it. These are our 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. We have fallen in love with them. “
After the initial shock passed, the couple made as much preparations as possible for their daughter’s rare situation. But in fact, the only choice is to trust God to guide them.
Doctors at the Children’s Hospital of the University of California, Duckgis, spent a lot of time preparing for the appearance of Cigal and Micaela Baghinschi. They conducted many simulations in an attempt to predict any and all possible complications.
Finally, the day of fighting arrived, and the twins arrived safely!
The girls stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital for several weeks before going home. When they grow up, doctors know that at some point, they will have to separate their heads.
“With the increase of age, the risks of common blood vessels and organs become greater or intertwined. “The upcoming flu season, COVID-19 and RSV are also worrying,” explained Dr Granger Wong, a senior plastic surgeon.
At the age of nine months, the medical team was ready to operate on twins whose heads were connected. They spent several months using various techniques to draw the process.
The turning operation took place within a tense 24 hours. It involves a large team of 30 surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and other major surgeons. They did a beautiful job.
At 3: 28 am on Sunday, Aunt Gail and Micaela were separated.
“It’s like a pre-arranged dance,” Dr. Huang said with Rajikliinder Dhamrait, director of pediatric anesthesia.
Parents Liliya Miroshnik and Anatoliy Bachinskiy waited a lot.
Finally, they can breathe a sigh of relief, the operation has been completed, and the doctors have successfully separated the twins with their heads connected safely!
Of course, the risky surgery made Aigail and Micaela’s medical team happy.
Dr. Michael Edwards said: “This is a landmark operation we performed at the Children’s Hospital of the University of California, Duckgis.
This is a moment that people involved in helping these precious girls can’t forget.
Aida Benitez, the nursing director of the Pediatric Surgery Center, said: “After 10 months of preparation, we have seen our imaginary girl, and we are full of emotions and happiness. “I will never see the clock at 3:28 again, and I will never think that Ami and Mica will become two independent moments.
Just like the body of Christ, all these different doctors and medical staff worked together to create a miracle. God’s hand guides us every step. This is the luck that Liliya Miroshnik and Anatoliy Bachinskiy will always be grateful for.
“Everything went well,” Lilia said. “It seems impossible to separate them, but God and the doctors and nurses at the University of California at Duckgis did it, and we are very grateful.
After the operation, Lilia and Anatoly helped their daughter restore her faith in God every day.
Lilia said: “Everything is in God’s hands, not even in the hands of doctors. This is my feeling.
We are sure that God has great plans for these two small miracles, which is a good reminder to trust God in everything!
