Striker Kylian Mbappe will not leave PSG in this year’s transfer window.
According to information from AS, Kylian Mbappe’s future has officially been decided and the French striker will continue to stay at PSG this season. However, it is likely that Mbappe will still find a new home next summer.
Mbappe’s future is a topic that has received a lot of attention in recent times. The reason comes from the letter Mbappe sent to the team’s leadership in June, announcing that he would not renew his contract and would leave the team on a free transfer when the 2023-2024 season ends.
PSG does not accept this decision. The French champion immediately sold Mbappe and pushed the 24-year-old striker to the bench in the first game of the new season.

However, the relationship between the two sides has improved significantly in the past 2 weeks. ESPN said Mbappe felt more comfortable when PSG parted ways with Neymar – the star was said to have friction with Mbappe at the club.
In a meeting in mid-August, Mbappe is said to have committed not to leave the team on a free transfer within the next 12 months. This helps untie knots between both sides. Mbappe returned to PSG’s main squad and appeared in the last 2 rounds. ESPN confirmed that Mbappe is happy and will not leave in the summer of 2023.
“Mbappe and PSG are still negotiating. Both sides can continue to sign a short-term contract with a release clause. Another possibility is that Mbappe does not renew but accepts to give up the bonus from PSG ( falls in the range of 70-100 million euros)”, ESPN describes the current situation.
