LeBron James wouldn’t be the first person to lie in a motivational video, but that’s just what the four-time NBA champion was doing recently, says Stephen A. Smith.
On First Take Wednesday, Smith said James was “lying” when he said he “doesn’t get tired” in a recent workout video shared on social media.
“He’s lying. He has gotten tired, but that’s okay,” Smith said. “LeBron James, of all the things that make him an extraordinary role model, the greatest thing to me is his conditioning and his commitment to being in shape. It was a travesty that this man, in his 20th season, was in better shape than most of the league last year, including his teammate Anthony Davis.”
Of course, LeBron was exaggerating in his post. He gets tired while working out just like we’re sure Stephen A. does when he’s in the middle of his hectic daily schedule.
Both men are great at pushing through and finishing the job though, which is why James is one of the greatest basketball players of all-time and ESPN is willing to cough up major money for Stephen A.
In his 20th season in the NBA in 2022-23, James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 35.5 minutes per game.
