It’s been just under five years since actress/producer Eva Longoria and her media executive husband José Bastón bought their Beverly Hills home for $20.5 million (US$13.5 million), but judging by the before and after photos, we can see how much work they’ve put into the eight-bedroom mansion. Perhaps that’s why the couple stand to make a tidy $14.2 million (US$9.4 million) profit if their house sells for its current price. Nearly US$10 million in under five years is certainly not a bad profit, by anyone’s standards.

As reported by Dirt.com, the Hollywood insiders have listed their 11,000 square foot home for $34.7 million (US$22.9 million). As well as eight bedrooms, the house boats nine bathrooms and two powder rooms. If that seems extravagant, consider that the couple have four 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren between them, you can see why Longoria and Bastón may have needed the extra bedrooms and bathrooms…

Of course, in five years, the house has had a considerable facelift from when the couple fist purchased it in 2017. Even the Spanish Colonial-style exterior is more established, with the addition of trees and creeping vines embellishing the pristine white paint job. The couple, who also own properties in Malibu Beach and Mexico City haven’t been idle when it comes to adding value to their property.

Inside, the two-storey home has also undergone a colourful transformation, with the front door now a cheerful cherry red, and the entrance showing off the couple’s impressive contemporary art collection, which includes not one, but two works from Damien Hirst. As is clear from the home’s interior’s the couple have contemporary tastes, and love to decorate with vibrant shades of red, canary yellow, mint and cobalt blue—a far cry from the subdued minimalism of the house when they first purchased it.

In fact, as Longoria told Architectural Digest in 2022, the stye of the home is reflective of Bastón’s taste. “My husband is a frustrated architect-slash-interior designer. He is very particular about every detail and he does a contemporary style that is functional and easy. It’s not super modern with chairs you can’t sit in and sharp edges.”

In terms of amenities, the house is certainly not short on those. There’s a library, media room, tennis court and expansive open-plan living area featuring bi-fold doors that open out onto the pool and lawn. With daybeds and lounges aplenty, we think Longoria and Bastón might be the entertaining types.

Keen chef Longoria also told AD her kitchen was her favourite room in the house (next to her closet). But even though the kitchen seems spacious enough to us, it was never big enough. “But I really think I’m insatiable. I think there could never be a kitchen big enough for me,” she said. Let’s hope wherever they’re going next, they have a bigger kitchen.
