Oscar winner Nicole Kidman revealed an interesting fact about her personal life when she admitted to fans that she suffered from a condition called Lepidopterophobia which is a strange fear of moths and butterflies. The Hours star as reported by IMDb, confessed and said,

“It’s so bizarre, I’m not scared of snakes or spiders. But I’m scared of butterflies. There is something eerie about them. Something weird! I jump out of planes, I could be covered in cockroaches, I do all sorts of things, but I just don’t like the feel of butterflies’ bodies.”

The Moulin Rouge star also has a Hawaiian name Hōkūlani which means heavenly star. It was inspired by a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 elephant 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 around the same time at the Honolulu Zoo. Having been 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in the American state of Hawaii to Australian parents, Kidman holds dual citizenship in Australia and the United States.

Kidman’s big break came in 1989 with the thriller film Dead Calm and the miniseries Bangkok Hilton, which then catapulted her into Hollywood.

Hamilton’s command over the character inspired the Dead Calm star to pursue her dream of acting through the medium of theater. That’s exactly what Kidman did by appearing in stage productions throughout her time in school until she dropped out to give acting her full attention.
