Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) actor Angelina Jolie has been nothing short of a global icon. But her journey hasn’t been the easiest. Being an incredibly famous Hollywood actress, she’s also had her own challenges that were revealed during the mid-90s, when she was in her teen years.
Being the daughter of the famous Hollywood actor Jon Voight (Anaconda), she joined acting when she was only 16. By the time she found her stride with Hackers (1995), she started to show signs of insomnia and her deteriorating mental health became public knowledge.

Around the same time, reports surfaced that she actually wanted to end her life. Her inability to bring herself to commit the act led her to contact a hitman in New York, as per an interview with The Face, to do the job for her.
According to reports on her early life, she wasn’t even a year old when Voight left the family, and Jolie’s troubled relationship with him left her mentally exhausted. She once told Access Hollywood that she wished to have a normal relationship with him.

Angelina Jolie’s Depression Led Her to Hire a Hitman
Jolie’s mental health got to a point during her breakout success with Hackers, that she found a contract 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁er to make it look like it was a robbery gone wrong. A reporter for The Face talked her into revealing in August of 2003 about what really happened there. She said that it would disappoint her mother if she did it herself.

“They’re not that hard to find in New York,” she told The Face. “As insane as it sounds, I think a lot of people consider suicide when they’re young.”
Adding further, she said that it wouldn’t let her loved ones feel that they let her down so she wanted it to happen like an accident, but her conversation with the hitman went the other way.

The Hitman Told Angelina Jolie to Reconsider the Contract
Revealing her conversation with the hitman, Angelina Jolie said that the guy told her to sleep on her decision. Carefully crafting the situation, she said that she took out excess cash from her bank so that it wouldn’t look like she set it up.
