Anne Hathaway Hit Back at Body-shaming Questions
She has been subjected to criticism and questions about her body weight from interviewees throughout her career, and she frequently calls out reporters who ask about how much weight she lost specifically for a particular role.
When Anne Hathaway was giving an interview promoting her film Dark Knight Rises, the actress was subjected to some very disturbing questions and she wasn’t afraid to call the interviewer out.
Hathaway was questioned extensively by Extra TV interviewer Jerry Penacoli about whether she needed to be in “perfect shape” for the film, whether the “form-fitting” suit was comfortable to wear, and how different her diet and training regimen were from Christian Bale’s.

Penacoli asked:
“You are in great shape. You’re always in great shape, but you had to make sure you were in perfect shape for this one, didn’t you?”
To which, Hathaway replied with a smile:
“It wasn’t about being in perfect shape. It was about being able to do the stunts and the fighting perfectly.”
But even after getting a reply in such a respective manner for a question like that, the interviewer went on to ask her about her Catwoman suit, and the actress made up her mind to gracefully shut it down.
On being asked:
“When you found out you were going to play Catwoman… Is there a certain regimen that you put yourself through in terms of the diet, and the workout? What is the feline fitness regime?”
And at that moment, she gave a befitting reply:
“It’s just watch what you eat and get to the gym.” Once again… Jerry Penacoli asked, “Any particular workout?”
“Are you trying to lose weight? What’s the deal, man? You look great. No, no seriously. We have to talk about this. What do you want? Are you trying to fit into a catsuit?”
