Journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is now expected to leave the club in the next transfer window.
He took to Twitter to state that Bayern Munich remain interested in his services, with him still keen to make the move too.
Last summer saw a large effort for Chelsea to part ways with Chalobah, with them looking to recover a large transfer fee.
It was claimed they were holding out for around £50m, although they were struggling to get a side to meet those demands.
Bayern were one of the clubs who were interested in a deal, with a potential reunion with former manager Thomas Tuchel on the cards for the 24-year-old.
There were a number of other options for the Englishman to move in the summer, particularly in the final hours of the window.
Chalobah expected to leave
It has been claimed that a bid was accepted from Nottingham Forest for his services, however the player was not interested in a move.
Nevertheless, Plettenberg has claimed that a move in the winter is still more than likely.
He said: “News Trevoh Chalobah: He’s still a candidate for FC Bayern! The 24 y/o remains on the list for the winter window Chalobah is still keen to join Bayern Ideas about a loan with an option to buy.
“But no concrete talks yet. It’s very likely that Chalobah will leave Chelsea in winter. The contact with Bayern has never been broken since the summer.”
With the addition of Axel Disasi over the summer, opportunities look scarce for the Englishman at any point at Stamford Bridge.
He has not yet featured this season following an injury which has left him sidelined for quite a while now.
