Sonia Rochel designed a small bath tub and shower unit called “The Thalasso Baby Spa” that replicates the comforting sensation of being in the womb. In the video, the new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 sister and brother, just after 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, continue to embrace each other during their first bath as if they never want to be separated. They remain unfazed by the touch of the midwife or being submerged in water, tightly holding on to each other while floating in the warm basin.
The nurse in the video gently supports and cradles the delicate bodies of the twins, who appear peaceful and serene. Carefully, water is showered over their foreheads and eyes, ensuring their noses and mouths stay above the surface for easy breathing. Towards the end, the babies are lifted out of the bath, placed on a mat, and wrapped in towels to dry.
Sonia Rochel introduced this bathing method when the twins were only a few days old at the maternity clinic where they were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧. She came up with the technique after experiencing the soothing sensation of water on her own face while showering. Observing that it made the babies move in a way similar to how they did in the womb, she decided to incorporate the method. This was not the first time Rochel had bathed twins together, and she expressed that she was not surprised by the infants’ heartwarming reaction in the video. She mentioned that witnessing the babies’ incredible response to the water is always a beautiful sight.
