‘He’s massively underrated’: Cole Palmer raves about Chelsea player who doesn’t get enough credit

Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is “massively underrated” and doesn’t get enough credit for his career.

That is according to Blues teammate Cole Palmer.

Raheem Sterling, now 28, is a player who’s done so much at both club and international level.

The Chelsea winger looks somewhere back to his best recently during his second term at Stamford Bridge.

He may have been overlooked recently for Gareth Southgate’s England squad, but 20 goals in 82 senior caps speak for itself. We’re pretty confident he’ll be back in the Three Lions camp in time for Euro 2024, too!

Improving Chelsea attack

In fairness, Chelsea’s forward line is finally beginning to look a bit more threatening with the likes of Sterling and Palmer impressing in the opening months of this season. Now, the attack needs to just be more clinical to make the most of their dominance in a lot of games.

Palmer reunited with Sterling this season in West London after previously playing alongside him at Manchester City.

The 21-year-old is adamant that his senior teammate is underrated.

Palmer said via Sky Sports’ YouTube channel: “I think he’s (Sterling) massively underrated. All the goals he’s scored, the assists, and how many times he’s played for England in major tournaments. Great player.”

Super Raheem Sterling

Chris Sutton told BBC Sport this week that Sterling is “looking dangerous” right now for Chelsea ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture at home to Arsenal.

The fast attacker was very sharp in recent games and starting to find his groove, so we just hope this two-week break for international fixtures doesn’t halt his momentum.

While others have been away with their countries, he’s been working on his game at Chelsea’s training ground. Hopefully, he goes into this evening’s league showdown with Arsenal highly motivated.

We do agree that Sterling’s perhaps undervalued when you weigh up everything he’s done in his career to date, with plenty more to come in a Chelsea shirt as well. This is a player with 118 Premier League goals and counting.
