‘I’m phoning up’: Chelsea now told to go and sign £30m PL player after what happened this weekend

Pundit Robbie Earle has now claimed that Chelsea should go all out to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal.

He told ‘The 2 Robbies’ that he is a goalkeeper at the level Chelsea require in order to progress.

While Chelsea impressed greatly in the London derby at the weekend, there were still plenty of fingers pointed at the man between the sticks.

Robert Sanchez’s terrible pass set Declan Rice up for a goal for the Gunners, at a time where the Blues were in complete control and leading 2-0.

Moments later, it was 2-2 and a frustrated set of players saw their good efforts gone to somewhat of a waste.

Despite Mauricio Pochettino remaining full of praise for the Spaniard after the game, there were plenty of questions over his future as a starter in the media.

Because of this, Earle has now claimed the Blues should go and sign the out-of-favour Ramsdale.

He said: “If I’m Chelsea, I’m phoning up and saying I’ll take Ramsdale, give me Ramsdale my friend. If you’re not going to use him, because Ramsdale is at the level you’re talking about.

“Ramsdale’s talking about he’ll have to go and play somewhere if he’s going to be in the Euros. If he’s overlooked by Arteta – I don’t know why Arteta wants the two goalkeepers and all that, and we’ve heard all the reasons behind it – if I’m Chelsea right now, I’d go and put it amongst them.

“I’d take Ramsdale because he’s at the level you’re talking about that Chelsea need.”

Ramsdale has currently been dislodged from the starting side by David Raya, despite joining for £30m in 2021.

However, the Spaniard’s poor positioning for Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal suggests that he is certainly not at the level required just yet.
