Coach Ten Hag: “The penalty Caused Man Utd To Lose To Man City”

After Man Utd lost 0-3 to Man City at Old Trafford in round 10 of the Premier League, coach Erik Ten Hag said that the penalty changed the match.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, coach Erik Ten Hag said: “The penalty changed the match. I don’t want to comment much, everyone can judge for themselves.”

In the 24th minute of the match, referee Paul Tierney awarded a penalty to Man City after reviewing the situation from video assistant referee (VAR) technology. Striker Rasmus Hojlund was fined for pulling Rodri down in the Man Utd penalty area.

On the 11m mark, striker Erling Haaland shot to the right corner to open the score for Man City. After that, “green” Man completely dominated the match and scored two more goals thanks to Haaland and Foden, sealing a 3-0 victory in the Manchester derby.

Evaluating the match, coach Erik Ten Hag affirmed that Man Utd did not play badly: “We played well and made it difficult for Man City, creating the same number of opportunities as them. The players followed the rules correctly. France.

We played defensively and waited for the opportunity to counterattack, creating good opportunities like Scott McTominay’s shot at the end of the first half. Of course losing a derby is always very disappointing, and the whole team felt uncomfortable. However, we will play better in the future.”

Finally, the Dutch strategist talked about many fans leaving the field when the “Red Devils” conceded for the third time: “Last season, we also fell into a situation where many fans left early after scoring. The home team lost to Man City. The whole team must immediately forget this defeat and focus on the next match.”

Man Utd has failed 5 out of 10 matches in the Premier League this year and on the evening of November 1, Coach Ten Hag’s team will meet Newcastle in the 1/8 round of the English League Cup. Last season, Man Utd won against this opponent in the final of the English League Cup and was crowned champion.
