Kevin Durant confessed he enjoyed being the villain on Twitter/X after joining the Warriors

Kevin Durant has been the villain for years and he loves it

Kevin Durant has always led an unapollogetic life, especially on social media because he tends to engage with his critics. Until 2016, Durant was one of the most beloved young talents in the NBA but a decision in that summer completely changed people’s perception of him. Also, he was caught up in a burner account scandal where he allegedly used them to antagonize his haters. People started hating on him because he signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors right after being eliminated by them when he still played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant wenton to win two rings with the Warriors but he also earned a certain reputation of ‘super team chaser’. This reputation was increased after he moved to both the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns, which were also considered super teams at the time.

Durant embraces his villain status

During a recent exchange with a Twitter follower, Durant did mention he loves having power over people who spew hate at him. In his particular style, the Phoenix Suns player has absolutely no regrets for the decisions he’s made throughout his career. In terms of results, Kevin Durant hasn’t been that fortunate because he hasn’t won a single championship since leavin the Warriors. He wasn’t able to get a ring with the Brooklyn Nets while playing alongside James Harden and Kyrie Irving. And he is trying to get a ring with the Phoenix Suns but the battle in the West is fierce.

However he ends his career, there is no doubt that Kevin Durant will be a Hall-of-Famer once he retires, even if he doesn’t win another ring. We are talking about one of the most talented players of the last 20 years in the league. An old era that includes him, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Chris Paul is about to end. All of those players are in the twilight of their careers and they all know it. However, Durant and the rest from that list will try to keep their status for as long as they can continue playing the game.
