Patrick Mahomes believes he deserves credit for motivating Travis Kelce to boldly confess his feelings to Taylor Swift.

“I want to take some credit, I was the one who invited Travis to the Taylor Swift concert for the first time . Travis was sitting in my room at the time so I felt like I was the matchmaker,” said the team midfielder. Kansas City Chiefs football team shared on the Pat McAfee Show on May 23, referring to pop star Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour stop in Kansas City last July.

Mahomes (28 years old) said he gave Kelce (34 years old) the confidence to give Taylor Swift (34 years old) a friendship bracelet with his phone number, even though Kelce failed at that time

“I also gave my opinion and said: Dude, just do it. Try your best,” the Kansas City Chiefs star continued.

“I was disappointed that she didn’t talk before or after her performance because she had to keep her voice down,” Kelce explained on the New Heights podcast a few weeks after seeing the concert.

“So I kind of regretted not giving her one of the bracelets I made for her… Taylor didn’t see anyone – or at least she didn’t want to see me…,” he continued.

However, the efforts were finally successful when Taylor Swift admitted to their relationship after Kelce talked about her on his podcast “adorably”.

“We started going out right after that,” she told Time in December 2023. The couple kept their romance a secret until the 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer watched the Kansas City Chiefs’ game for the first time in September 2023.

Most recently, Travis Kelce was spotted attending the pop star’s concert in Paris with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper on May 12. Travis continued to stay in the “city of light” for a short time, then he and Taylor Swift went on a romantic vacation to Lake Como, Italy.
