Emma Stone’s new movie Bugonia has confirmed a release date in the US.
The movie, which sees the two-time Oscar winner reuniting with director Yorgos Lanthimos and Kinds of Kindness co-star Jesse Plemons, will arrive in cinemas on November 7, 2025. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
Based on the South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet!, Bugonia centres on two conspiracy-obsessed men who decide to kidnap the powerful CEO of a major company, believing she is an alien sent from outer space to destroy planet Earth.

This marks the fourth collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, who have previously worked together in The Favourite, Poor Things and most recently Kinds of Kindness (which is set to be released in the UK this Friday).
This new project confirms their working relationship is as strong as ever, following Poor Things’ success at the Oscars 2024, which included a second Best Actress win for Stone. She won her first Academy Award back in 2017 for La La Land.
“Thank you for the gift of a lifetime in the role of Bella Baxter,” she told Lanthimos during her acceptance speech.

Jesse Plemons has been confirmed as the second lead in the movie, following his recent Best Actor win at Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Kinds of Kindness. Plemons recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Alex Garland’s Civil War.
The actor is reuniting with Lanthimos for a second movie, joining the director’s list of usual collaborators including Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley.
There haven’t been more cast announcements so far for Bugonia beyond Stone and Plemons, though.
There are also no further details about the script, which is written by Will Tracy. Tracy’s recent works include The Menu and TV shows like The Regime and Succession.
