KIM Kardashian has opened up about having psoriasis in a new interview.
The reality TV star told Mary Alice Haney and Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi on their healthcare podcast SHE MD Podcast she’d previously had a “burning” flare-up on her face before attending the Met Gala.

She said the condition began to affect her face and she “got a little bit desperate,” causing her to try numerous home remedies to help it calm down.
“There was a spot really close to my eye, and it would just burn a little bit.
“And I remember I had the Met ball coming up that week and it was covering my face,” the mom-of-four said.
Kim said it was the first time psoriasis had affected her face, though she never specified which year’s Met she had issues.
She was asked by Mary whether she believed the flare-up was related to stress.
“I’m trying to think of what I was going through at that time.
“There’s a lot I could [say],” she responded, smiling.
According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, the condition is an “immune-mediated disease (a disease with an unclear cause) that is characterized by inflammation caused by dysfunction of the immune system) that causes inflammation in the body.”
FINDING RELIEF
Physical symptoms include “raised plaques” which can look different on different skin types, as well as scales on the skin.
Kim said she used tar as a remedy in the form of patches and teas.
“I fell asleep with like, tar patches on my face, and like, homeopathic creams.
“I was literally drinking my tar teas, I was doing everything I could possibly do at that time.”
Her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, used concealer to cover the patches of the skin that were affected.
Though she never disclosed which year she was talking about, the SKIMS had previously told Allure she’d had a flare-up before the 2022 event.
“Psoriasis broke out over my body and I got psoriatic arthritis so I couldn’t really move my hands.
“It was really painful, and I had to go to a rheumatologist who put me on a steroid. I was freaking out. I cut out the meat again, and it’s calmed down,” she told the publication.
Psoriatic arthritis is a “chronic, inflammatory disease of the joints and entheses, where tendons and ligaments connect to bone,” says the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Kim attended the 2022 Met Gala with her then-boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson.
It was the same year she was criticized for wearing a dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe and going on a three-week crash diet to lose 16 pounds so she could fit into it.
