The former J. Crew boss has put his refurbished Hamptons retreat back on the market for $6.8 million

In July 2018,  real estate broker David Granville and his partner Jeffrey Pfeifle, a retired fashion executive and former president of  J.Crew, initially listed their  Hamptons home for $5.9 million. After taking the listing down, the couple is now relisting their Water Mill residence for $6.75 million.

Granville and Pfeifle purchased the property at 204 Upper Seven Ponds Road in 2008 for $4.3 million and undertook an extensive maximalist redesign. Built-in 2003, the shingle-style home offers seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms across 6,000 square feet. The listing, handled by Granville and his Corcoran colleague Mala Sander, describes the estate as a prime example of luxury and style in the Hamptons. The property spans nearly three acres and includes a gated entrance, a dramatic long driveway, an apple orchard, and potential space for a tennis court.

The grounds include a swimming pool.

Inside, the home features a blend of Nantucket and Palm Beach styles, starting with a grand foyer and a great room with cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a cozy fireplace. The den also includes a fireplace, a full bar, and coffered ceilings. The kitchen is equipped with granite countertops and high-end appliances. On its wing on the first floor, the primary suite boasts dual bathrooms and a sitting area.

Granville and Pfeifle rented their home for $110,000 from August to Labor Day. This rate is relatively modest compared to newer homes in Water Mill, which have commanded up to $1.2 million for the Memorial Day to Labor Day season or $1 million for July to Labor Day.
