Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh Jolie has officially dropped her father’s last name, according to media reports.
Shiloh recently hired and paid for her own lawyer when she filed a petition to drop Pitt’s last name on her 18th 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day, changing her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. According to TMZ, there was no formal hearing on the name change – the petition was approved on August 19, according to official court documents.
Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh Jolie officially drops actor’s last name
Last month, Shiloh published a statement in the Los Angeles Times dropping her father’s last name, “Pitt,” a step that is standard before the court approves. The statement also states that anyone who objects to the petition must appear in court.
A source close to the matter told Dailymail last month: “The fact that Shiloh has hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself, Angelina Jolie doesn’t know and can’t speak. But if you ask whether this is related to Shiloh’s history of abuse or the violation of her victim rights, then yes, that is part of the problem.”
Shiloh’s self-funding shows that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s bitter eight-year divorce battle over custody is still ongoing, with neither willing to let go.
A source told People that their differences have affected their relationship, adding that things have gotten worse and are not good for anyone. Another insider said: “They both have issues. It’s really sad for the kids, but it’s sad for the parents.”
Currently, Angelina Jolie spends most of her time with her daughter, while Brad Pitt is dating Ines de Ramon and the two are very much in love.
