Travis Kelce says that Patrick Mahomes’ crazy plays during practice “demoralized” the Kansas City Chiefs defense

Mahomes has responded to a flag football star who claims he is better than the NFL icon

TRAVIS Kelce knew Patrick Mahomes was special long before NFL fans.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, has formed an unstoppable partnership with the superstar quarterback since 2018.

Mahomes was drafted in 2017 and only named the starter a year later after Alex Smith was traded to the Washington Commanders.

But Kelce revealed the signal caller was tormenting first-team defences before he took to the field as a regular – namely his own.

“The s**t he was doing in those practices was mind-blowing,” he told the Pardon My Take podcast.

“He had no, like, filter. He was just out there like, ‘Oh this doesn’t matter. I could just throw it over here.’

“The defense is just demoralized in practice. They’re like, ‘What the f**k, this kid’s dicing us up right now.'”

“The patience they had for him is needed across the league,” commented one fan on the video.

“That’s why they had the best defense in the league last year,” added another.

“Need that practice film asap,” begged a third.

Smith helped the Chiefs wrap up the No. 1 seed early in 2017, meaning Mahomes was given a chance in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos.

Kelce noted how Mahomes commanded the offence with his typical composure to inspire a 27-24 victory via a game-winning drive.

The three-time Super Bowl champ threw for a career-best 50 touchdowns in a dominant first year as a starter in 2018.

Mahomes has responded to flag football star Darrell Doucette’s bold claim that he is better than the Chiefs icon.

With flag football set to debut in the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, Mahomes is one of several NFL stars to have expressed an interest in playing.

Doucette, however, has claimed that it is “disrespectful” that NFL stars assume that they’ll “automatically” make the roster.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” told TMZ.

Seeing a clip of Doucette speaking, Mahomes responded with the 50 Cent “What he say f**k me for?” meme.

Fans loved Mahomes’ post on X, with several responding with laughing emojis.

In addition to Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Rob Gronkowski and Tyreek Hill have all expressed an interest in playing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Doucette is the US national flag football team’s quarterback and is a world champion after leading his country to victory over Mexico in the final of a 2021 tournament held in Israel.

“I think it’s disrespectful that they just automatically assume that they’re able to just join the Olympic team because of the person that they are,” he said.

“They didn’t help grow this game to get to the Olympics.

“Give the guys who helped this game get to where it’s at their respect.”

While Doucette is not necessarily opposed to NFL stars joining the team in 2028, he feels that they should be made to work for their spots.

“We just don’t think they’re going to be able to walk on the field and make the Olympic team because of the name, right?” he said.

“They still have to go out there and compete.”

Last year, Gronkowski told TMZ that he did not want to have to try out for the Olympic team.

“Hopefully there’s no tryouts and they just accept me,” he said.

“But I’m in. I’m going for that if there is flag football in the Olympics in 2028. USA going all the way!”
