Elon Musk released many controversial, high-profile figures back onto X following his takeover – but Travis and Jason Kelce’s dad still finds himself unable to log into his account
Ed Kelce, the dad of beloved NFL duo Jason and Travis Kelce, has revealed that he’s banned from Elon Musk’s X social media platform, and he doesn’t know the exact reason why.
Ed Kelce shared the news on Facebook, where he also shared a story about Houthis allegedly using the X social media platform to sell weapons. He said: “Arms dealers are free to peddle their wares on X but I’m banned for life and they won’t say why, just a generic ‘Terms of Service’ violation.’
X, since billionaire Musk’s takeover, unbanned many controversial, high-profile figures previously removed from the platform. Figures such as Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump, as well as Andrew Tate, Tommy Robinson, and more have all returned to X.
“The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk tweeted after conducting a poll on his X account on whether accounts should be unbanned if they did not “broken the law or engaged in egregious spam.”
Ed Kelce is a popular face among the Kelces and regularly appears at games alongside mum, Donna. He’s also got to know his son Travis’ new girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and the pair embraced after the AFC Championship game win over the Baltimore Ravens, before the Kansas City Chiefs went on to retain the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
The Kelce brothers had joked on their popular “New Heights” podcast that they were nervous for Ed to meet the superstar singer. But evidently, they had nothing to worry about. “Papa Kelce in the spotlight. If you were watching the game, you saw something momentous happen,” newly-retired Jason said. “Momentous,” Travis added.
Jason then continued: “He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift. If you see Dad talking to someone and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going.”

Travis quipped: ‘You know Dad like I know Dad. This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for being in this.”
Swift Mania at NFL games shocked Ed. Speaking to the TODAY Show in January, Ed gave Swift, 34, a glowing review. “Every game there’s people crowding outside the front of that suite trying to get a glimpse of Taylor, wanting to meet Taylor,” he said.
“Taylor’s very gracious, but she can’t do everything. And she’s got security guys who don’t want her doing anything. That’s their job and she’s smart enough to know, ‘I’m paying these guys to keep me safe. I should probably listen to them.’ But if it was up to her she’d be out there with everyone who wants her.
