Elon Musk Cybertruck Rodeo 2024 Caravan Looks Like an Alien Invasion, Trucks Got Properly Abused

Cybertruck owners across the US gathered in Gatesville, Texas, to mark the six-month anniversary of Tesla’s electric pickup truck. Over 75 Cybertrucks and 500 people attended the event to meet one another, show off their trucks, and abuse them in an organized manner.Six months after Tesla started deliveries of the Cybertruck, enough of them were delivered to mark the anniversary in style. The Cybertruck Rodeo event was announced as “the world’s largest Cybertruck meetup,” which was not difficult to achieve, considering it was the first of its kind.

According to the organizer, the Tesla Owners Club of Austin, over 75 Cybertrucks and 500 people registered for the event. As you can imagine, this led to the formation of the biggest Cybertruck caravan in history. The trucks gathered at the Tesla Supercharger in Temple, Texas, and traveled in formation to the Cybertruck Rodeo venue, the DOMO racetrack in Gatesville. It may have been a short trip, but it had a big impact, judging by the reaction on social media. The Cybertruck takeover was declared a “rolling Apocalypse” by Tesla Cybertruck lead engineer Wes Morrill.According to the event’s official poster, people attending the Cybertruck Rodeo could drive on a dirt test track and learn about their pickup trucks, besides having a great time meeting new people. A synchronized light show was also on the menu, although we’ve seen no related video shared on social media yet.

However, there was a fair share of driving videos. One video shows a Cybertruck tackling an S curve at high speed, causing the truck to almost roll over. Thankfully, after spending a worrying amount of time on its two right wheels, the Cybertruck returned on all four and cleared the curves safely. The heavy battery pack installed in between the wheels certainly contributed to keeping the heavy pickup truck steady during the S-curve maneuver. This is arguably one of the most challenging scenarios for a vehicle, considering the whip effect caused by the right-left-right steering.Contrary to the general impression that most people wrap their Cybertrucks in different colors and patterns, it appears that many still love the original stainless steel appearance. At least, that’s what most of the Cybertrucks wore at the Cybertruck Rodeo event.

The cold-rolled steel had to endure abuse from a pick axe, ending the fight in a tie after bending the axe while getting pierced by its pointier side. The Cybertruck may not be Tesla’s most polished product, but it hasn’t lost its halo as the most desired vehicle model in the world. Tesla reportedly ramped up production at Giga Texas to over 1,000 units per week. Despite being famous for its toughness, including for resisting bullets shot from a rifle, the Cybertruck has its soft spots, as some owners noticed.
