Woods, a 15-time major champion, is still competing in select tournaments
Tiger Woods, despite suffering a series of severe injuries throughout his career, continues to defy expectations by competing in professional golf.
His most significant setback, the aftermath of a devastating 2021 car accident, has left him battling physical limitations like never before. However, Woods, the 15-time major champion, has remained committed to the sport, teeing up at select events each year despite his pain.

Fellow golfer Anirban Lahiri recently praised Woods for his unmatched tenacity in an exclusive interview with Essentially Sports.
Lahiri, a 7-time Asian Tour winner and LIV Golf player, spoke with admiration for the 48-year-old Woods, emphasizing how remarkable his career has been in light of the injuries he’s endured.
“Truly, he’s a genius,” said Lahiri. “If it had been anyone else, they would have stopped playing many years ago.”
Despite standing on opposite sides of the LIV Golf and PGA Tour divide, Lahiri made it clear that his respect for Woods transcends any current golf politics.
"Fans definitely want what Tiger wears and this collection is just that."

Even with the lingering merger uncertainty, Lahiri hailed Woods for continuing to play, even if his body only allows him to compete at “30 or 40 percent capacity.” Lahiri marveled, “It’s a miracle that he’s walking, let alone playing golf.”
The LIV golfer added that Woods’ mere presence on the golf course is a powerful statement, not just for the game but for everyone watching him defy the odds.
Woods’ 2019 Masters Victory
One of the standout moments in Woods’ career, according to Lahiri, was his jaw-dropping victory at the 2019 Masters.
At a time when it seemed like Woods’ career was on the decline due to recurring injuries, he shocked the world by capturing his fifth Masters title and earning his 15th major championship.
Lahiri recalled the comeback fondly, saying, “Even with that [his injuries], you’re still able to win a green jacket.” Lahiri described the achievement as nothing short of remarkable, especially given the physical hurdles Woods had to overcome.

Lahiri highlighted Woods’ determination, saying, “Coming back after those injuries, it was truly incredible.”
Despite their different tours and affiliations, Lahiri couldn’t hold back his respect for the iconic golfer and acknowledged the monumental effort Woods continues to make every time he steps onto the course.
