After 27 years of cooperation, Tiger Woods ended his contract with the famous Nike apparel brand last year and officially announced his new Sun Day Red product line recently.
27 years is a long time for a brand, and Nike has sold a lot of Woods gear for nearly 30 years. That has been incredibly profitable for the company. Tiger Woods’ first deal and even later ones paved the way for Nike’s big deals. Now, athletes like LeBron James and Kevin Durant have lifetime deals with the brand.
Tiger Woods has ended his two-year contract with Nike.
Tiger Woods himself has also made a lot of money from this valuable contract. Woods initially signed a five-year, $40 million deal with Nike as a rookie in 1996. This was followed by a five-year, $100 million deal in 2001. His next deal was a whopping $320 million over eight years. His last deal with Nike was for $200 million over 10 years, and that ran through 2023, when he didn’t renew.
That means Woods’ contracts totaled $660 million over 27 years. He made about $24 million a year with Nike. It’s an impressive deal, and it’s helped Woods’ multibillion-dollar fortune. It’s unclear why Woods never signed a lifetime deal. He has worn Nike for most of his life.

For the season and the new year, Tiger Woods launched his own line in partnership with TaylorMade. At the Genesis Invitational, Woods wore the new logo for the first time since his debut, rather than his familiar Nike kit. Fans have never seen Woods play an event without the Nike logo on almost everything he wears.
