Rory McIlroy’s luxury new private jet took to the skies again this weekend as the Holywood man prepares to face the DP World Tour conclusion in the Middle East.
McIlroy is the wealthiest person under 40 in Northern Ireland with an estimated net worth of £225 million, according to the 2024 Sunday Times Rich List. He is also one of the most marketable players on the PGA Tour, and his off-course earnings are second only to Tiger Woods.
It is no surpise then that he can afford to travel in style and especially when he competes all over the world and often likes to take his wife Erica Stoll and Poppy along with him. His last appearance was at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland where he finished 25th. Next time out he will be in Abu Dhabi in early November.
McIlroy’s new plane is a 2022 Gulfstream G65 0ER. The manufacturers website states that this model is considered among the most reliable business jets in the world, with more than 500 units currently in service.
The aircraft is estimated to be worth $38.5 million pre-owned. He previously owned a Bombardier Challenger 605 valued at $30 million.
A flight tracking site in the US shared an update at the weekend with McIlroy’s plane back in the sky after likely upgrade work.
The radaratlas2 account stated: “Rory McIlroy’s new airplane #N650MN is air𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧e. This is a 2022 Gulfstream G650ER. Today is the first time it has flown in over a month.
“The plane has been in Michigan for a month likely doing upgrades/customization work since it was owned by another company before Rory bought it.”

The Northern Ireland man will need his jet soon enough as the DP World Tour heads for the Middle East. McIlroy is due in Abu Dhabi for the HSBC Championship from November 7-10 before heading for nearby Dubai for the DP World Tour Championship finale.
Research conducted by Online Betting Guide shows the Northern Irishman has won over £26.5m so far on the course this season but perhaps staggeringly he has earned even more off if.
OLBG have sourced the off-field earnings of the biggest sports stars of the last year to reveal the athletes making the most money from business ventures and endorsements. McIlroy is the only British sports star to feature in the top 10 as he finished ahead of Neymar on £34m off-field earnings to take him to over £60m in combined earnings.
