Durant has had little to no team success outside of the Golden State Warriors
Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant joined a Twitter Spaces called “Kevin Durant is not top 5” to defend himself on Friday night. The host of the space, @LegendOfWinning, is known for often bashing KD, but all he could do was agree with the NBA star when speaking with him.
Durant, 34, defended himself by stating that top five lists don’t really mean anything to real fans and claimed he has proven himself on the court despite having little team success outside of the Golden State Warriors.
“I just think how ya’ll even look at the game is whack as f—,” Durant said. “Playoff success, you factor in team success when you talk about players. I just think how ya’ll consume the game is trash. Like, are you good or not?
“Some things can be that simple. Are you just good or not? A lot of people have seen it for a long time, brother. And it’s okay. These lists don’t really mean anything, anyway. So why are you getting so upset about it?”
It’s unclear how the conversation unfolded after that moment, but KD did not stop there, taking to Twitter to give other trolls the time of day.

Kevin Durant did not stop there
Durant continued answering trolls online, writing that the NBA fanbase is currently in shambles.
“Dudes who don’t even come close to being good at anything be jealous of the real players,” Durant tweeted. “Shit be funny and sad at the same time.”
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young reacted to KD joining the Twitter Spaces with a few laughing emojis.
Durant responding to haters on Twitter is nothing new, but joining a live conversation about his legacy is definitely a first.
