NBA Executive Believes Gabe Vincent Is The Perfect Point Guard For The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers were extremely active in free agency this year, and there’s no doubt that many believe they have made good moves. One of the highly touted moves was the signing of point guard Gabe Vincent.

A recent report from Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times revealed the sentiments of a league executive who claimed that Gabe Vincent is the “perfect point guard” next to stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

“One league executive raved about the Lakers signing Gabe Vincent, saying the guard is ‘the perfect point guard to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.’”

“The executive cited Mario Chalmers as a player who reminds him of Vincent. ‘[Vincent] doesn’t need the ball, can shoot it, and makes the right decisions. And, he can really defend.’”

When playing with two superstars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, one needs to be able to make the right plays and play without the ball. It is clear that Vincent has both those qualities, and hopefully, he succeeds on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Gabe Vincent had a solid playoff outing with the Miami Heat, averaging 12.7 PPG, 1.4 RPG, and 3.5 APG, while shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc. The Lakers will need him to keep up that level of play for a whole season, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Gabe Vincent Already Knows How He’ll Fit In On The Los Angeles Lakers

It seems as though Gabe Vincent already knows how he will fit in with the Los Angeles Lakers. Previously, he stated that he will “impact winning” and that he has the ability to “make open shots” and playmaker for others.

“[Lakers] have a little bit of everything. They have size. They have athleticism. They have leadership. They got stars. I bring a little bit of toughness on defense, I bring some playmaking, I can make open shots. I think I showed in Miami that my game is pretty versatile… I could come in and just try to impact winning in a number of ways and every night it might be different.”

It remains to be seen how Gabe Vincent will do in the future. He is definitely a solid player who can play a role on a winning team, and he could have a career season next to LeBron James.
