Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has once again spent heavily this summer with current Blues defender Thiago Silva having seemingly given the thumbs up to another big-name signing before the deadline
Thiago Silva has admitted that he has spoken to Paulo Dybala about a move to Chelsea after approving a move for the forward.
The Blues have recently been linked with a bid for the current Roma star, with reports suggesting they are keen to activate a release clause written into his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
Dybala has also excited supporters over recent days having been spotted over in the UK. He shared a picture of him and his partner at Wimbledon earlier this week, whilst the Argentine international was also at the British Grand Prix taking place at Silverstone.
Another interested spectator at the track was Chelsea defender Thiago Silva. The veteran was asked about the prospect of Dybala moving to Stamford Bridge and revealed that he’d attempted to get in touch with the forward to find out the truth.
“I’ve asked Paulo Dybala if it’s true that he’s coming to Chelsea but he didn’t answer,” Silva confirmed. “He’s a top player, he’d be a massive signing for us — I’d like it.”
Dybala is fresh off the back of an excellent campaign in the Italian capital after his arrival on a free transfer from Juventus last summer. He made 38 appearances in all competitions for Roma last term, scoring on 18 occasions.

Former Chelsea boss and current Roma manager Jose Mourinho has already given his response to Dybala’s potential exit but remained tight-lipped. He said: “I don’t know anything about his contract. But obviously I talk to Paulo like I do with all of my players.”
Dybala has two years left to run on the contract that he initially signed with Roma. It is not the first time he has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Tottenham had managed to agree a £64m fee with his then employers Juventus back in the summer of 2019, only for a disagreement regarding his image rights to scupper a move to North London. He stayed with the Italian giants for a further three seasons before agreeing a switch to Roma.
Amid their reported interest in Dybala, Chelsea have already moved to bolster their attacking options this summer. Christopher Nkunku has been recruited from RB Leipzig in a £52m move, whilst Nicolas Jackson has also arrived from Spanish side Villarreal.
There could yet be further alterations to the club’s attacking options before the 2023/24 season gets under way. Christian Pulisic is thought to be on the verge of a move to Italian giants AC Milan, whilst Romelu Lukaku could yet return to Inter Milan.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech have also all been linked with moves away ahead of deadline day.
