Rina Sawayama is hitting the headlines with her high notes, not only for music but probably to give someone a rant which is not her first time. The Japanese-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 British singer has already ventured into acting by debuting as Akira in Keanu Reeves-led John Wick 4.

Given the praise she garnered in her acting debut, it is for sure that her career is going to accelerate at a new pace but for now, she is not holding herself back to criticize Taylor Swift’s alleged ex-beau, Matty Healy.
Rina Sawayama Blasted Matty Healy for Faking Apologies

At NOS Alive festival in Lisbon, Rina Sawayama didn’t hold herself back from expressing her real thoughts for seemingly Matty Healy for faking apologies. During her performance of STFU!, she took out a short time to rant about The 1975 frontman Matty Healy stating,
“So I’ve been thinking a lot about apologies. Isn’t it funny how some people get away with not apologizing ever? For saying some racist s–t, for saying some 𝓈ℯ𝓍ist s–t? So let’s try this: Why don’t you apologize for once in your life without making it about your f–king self?”
This rant comes a month after she called him out during her performance at Glastonbury. Though she didn’t name him on both the show, she made a clear reference while bashing the latter who hit headlines for quite a negative reason.

Healy came under fire following his appearance in The Adam Friedland Show podcast where he made derogatory remarks about Ice Spice along with the host. He also made remarks about watching racially charged p-rn which as per BuzzFeed is an “extreme p-rn website that focuses on the humiliation and degradation of women of color.”
Soon after the backlash began, he gave a half-baked apology to Ice Spice back in April onstage stating,
“I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you.”
However, in an interview with The New Yorker, he commented on the controversy stating,
“Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, ‘What’s wrong, darling?’ and they go, ‘It’s just this thing with Matty Healy.’ That doesn’t happen.”

Defending his statement, he addressed the people who got offended.
“You’re either deluded or you are, sorry, a liar. You’re either lying that you are hurt, or you’re a bit mental for being hurt. It’s just people going, ‘Oh, there’s a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am.’ And I kind of want them to do that, because they’re demonstrating something so base level.”
He also reportedly had a short fling with pop star, Taylor Swift. The duo first met back in 2014 however their short-lived romance kicked off years later. Their dating rumors went stronger when her split with Joe Alwyn was confirmed in April this year. The duo was spotted enjoying each other’s company however PEOPLE confirmed back this June that the duo have broken up.
