Cristiano Ronaldo has a ‘massive £43 million’ fortune… which includes a villa on the Portuguese Coast when he retires as well as EIGHT other homes

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the richest sportspeople in the world after a stunning career which has stemmed nearly two decades.

The 38-year-old lives a lavish lifestyle and his vast success has earned him enough to have plenty of options when it comes to living arrangements.

Since his return to Old Trafford, Ronaldo has been living in a home owned by treble-winning hero Andy Cole – after selling his £3.25m Cheshire mansion back in 2019.

As reported by the Mirror, Ronaldo though now has a property empire worth a whopping £43m.

Sportsmail takes a look at the properties the Portuguese star owns.

Planned retirement mansion – £7m

While it’s uncertain how long Ronaldo will still play for in his career, he is already thinking about his future, as he has ordered a £7m mansion to be built on the Portuguese Riviera for his family to use when he retires.

He has bought a large plot of land in Quinta da Marinha, Cascais, on the west coast of Portugal.

Newspaper Correio da Manha states it will be an investment and considered part of the player’s property empire, while magazine TV 7 Dias claim Ronaldo is planning to use it as a family home.

What they called a ‘future neighbour’ said to the magazine: ‘The land was fenced off recently and it was purchased by Ronaldo.

‘This is where he’s coming to live with his family when he finishes his career. Everyone round here knows it and of course we’re happy. Ronaldo is Ronaldo.’

Two Lisbon flats – £6.5m

The planned retirement mansion is a half an hour’s drive from his flat in Lisbon – which was the most expensive to ever be sold in Portugal’s capital city.

Ronaldo paid £6.5m for a state-of-the-art 3,100-square foot pad in Avenida da Liberdade with a gym and both indoor and outdoor swimming pool.

The Portuguese star is also said to own a flat of unknown value in the Rua Castilho area of Lisbon.

Ronaldo started off his playing career in Lisbon before joining Manchester United for the first time in 2003.

Madeira complex – £7m

Ronaldo has a £7m seven-storey apartment block in Funchal, Madeira, where his mother Dolores, 66, and brother Hugo live after he bought it two years ago.

He bought the building in 2015 from local designer Nini Andrade Silva for an undisclosed amount, and set about renovating it into his dream property at the cost of £7m.

Ronaldo spent the first part of the coronavirus lockdown earlier this year staying on the top two floors of the house with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren when he was still at Juventus.

The property has four above-ground floors, with the top two taken by Ronaldo and his girlfriend, along with his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.

It is not known exactly how many bedrooms and bathrooms the property boasts, but it does have two swimming pools – one of the roof – as well as two gyms and a small football pitch Ronaldo uses to train at while he is at home.

Geres, Portugal – £2.3m

He also has a luxurious £2.3m property in the spa town of Geres, northern Portugal.

Ronaldo recently had to demolish ‘illegal’ extensions at the home, pulling down a housekeeper’s cottage and an annexe next to a tennis court at the riverside mansion.

He donated the rubble from the demolished buildings to needy families.

Turin – Price unknown

Ronaldo, along with partner Georgina Rodriguez and his four 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, also owns a luxury villa in Turin, Italy from his time at Juventus.

Located in the hills of Turin, the property comprises of two adjoining villas and is situated on a private road with security guards and surrounded by private gardens.

From its rooftop, there are picturesque views of the Italian city, while the facilities include a nursery, a gym, palatial walk-in wardrobes and a pool.

Madrid – £4.8m

It was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Ronaldo was drawn to the Turin home because it reminded him of his old home just outside the Spanish capital, in the exclusive La Finca neighbourhood.

The £4.8m-valued property was Ronaldo’s home for many of his glittering nine seasons with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is understood to have put his former home on the market after leaving Los Blancos three-and-a-half years ago, but it remains unclear whether it has been sold.

New York Condo – £14m

His most expensive property is a condo in New York City’s Trump Tower which he purchased for £14m in 2015.

His three-bedroom abode already boasts panoramic views of Manhattan and Central Park.

However, the value of the property has gone down nosedived in recent years and Ronaldo put it on the market for just £6.8m in 2019.

Marbella holiday home – £1.2m

Ronaldo also treated himself to a new holiday home in the summer of 2019 after winning the Serie A title during his first season at Juventus.

He bought a property in a Marbella country club for £1.2m which is just down the road from a similar home owned by UFC star Conor McGregor.

The home gives him the chance to enjoy his down-time from football during the off-season.
