The viral clip, posted on X on Monday, shows the fan approaching him for a selfie the moment James, flaunting the gold medal around his neck, gets out of his luxury Mercedes. The player snaps at the fan, asking him to step back. “Stop, stop, stop. Don’t do that,” James is heard saying in the video.
Soon after, he can be seen busting some moves, hugging other fans, and posing for photos with them.
Sharing the video, an X user Collin Rugg said, “NBA star LeBron James is under fire for snapping at a young fan who asked for a picture after winning gold at the Olympics. James was seen telling the kid ‘stop’ before he pulled off a dance move while entering the venue.”

With over four million views, the video has triggered outrage among social media users. “LeBron James is the epitome of trash in the NBA,” a user wrote. “Not a fan of LeBron James who is anti-America, pro-China, and was still somehow the flagbearer for America,” another user commented.
“I would hope that a man worth over $1 billion could show a little understanding for a kid who wants a photo,” a third user reacted.
The US defeated France for the second Olympic final in a row, with James back in the squad and four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry making his tournament debut.
