Kylian Mbappe has rejected PSG’s latest contract proposal

Kylian Mbappe has opted to stay in Paris Saint-Germain for the 2023-24 campaign. His plan appears to be to force a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, although history is witness that nothing can be predicted about the Frenchman’s future.

Yesterday, reports emerged that PSG had offered the youngster a new proposal to renew his contract. Both parties were said to be negotiating, and his continuity beyond this season became a real possibility.

Ramon Alvarez de Mon, however, reports that Mbappe has rejected the proposal placed on the table by his employers. As it stands, his intentions continue to be directed towards a departure next summer.

Ancelotti declares there will be no more arrivals

Speaking to the press ahead of Real Madrid’s clash against Celta Vigo, Ancelotti was asked about the possibility of any player joining the squad in the closing days of the transfer window.

The Italian tactician was firm in his stance that his squad was closed for the season.

“No, I rule it out 100%,” he said.

As for the situation with Mbappe, PSG have agreed to his continuity for the ongoing season without finalising a renewal. It had been said that the youngster is giving up the bonuses PSG owe him to churn out a favourable deal.

However, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Co. still hope to convince the superstar to renew his contract. They aim to win Mbappe’s trust with their project over the next season and tie him down with a longer deal.

All eyes are now on the player. If he renews his deal in France, the chance of a move to Real Madrid in the years to come would appear bleak. After all, Los Blancos have spent sufficient years in his pursuit so far.
