Lakers Players Give Wild Answers For Biggest Animal They Could Beat In A Fight, Christian Wood Calls Them Out For Lying

Lakers players were asked what’s the biggest animal they could beat in a fight, and we got some wild responses.

Players on the Los Angeles Lakers were recently asked to name the biggest animal they could beat in a fight, and going by their responses, they seem rather confident about their fighting capabilities.

Anthony Davis: “If you see me in a fight with a bear, help the bear.”

Austin Reaves: “A deer.”

Jaxson Hayes: “I feel I could beat a seven-foot alligator.”

Jarred Vanderbilt: “Grizzly bear, lion, whale.”

Gabe Vincent: “Alligator.”

Rui Hachimura: “I think I can fight a bear.”

Alex Fudge: “Great white shark.”

If I had to help one side in a fight between Anthony Davis and a bear, it’d definitely be Davis. You admire the confidence that a lot of them have, but, except for Austin Reaves, they wouldn’t last too long against the animals they picked. Reaves, who picked deer, gave the only reasonable response and that is just about the biggest animal any of this lot can realistically hope to beat.

Christian Wood And Lakers Fans Weren’t Buying It

I certainly am not the only one doubting their chances against these animals. Even Christian Wood couldn’t believe what his teammates were saying and called them out for lying.

Lakers fans similarly weren’t buying it, that the players could these animals.

A fan is backing the bear to beat Davis, “Definitely taking the bear over AD.”

One hilariously said the whole team would die, “My whole team dying”

A fan believes Reaves gave the only good answer, “Reaves with the only realistic answer.”

Davis would be out for more than a year if he fought a bear, said a fan, “AD would break like glass, and be out for 12-18 months”

One fan joked that the players must have been talking about the Memphis Grizzlies, “They meant the Memphis Grizzlies when talking about a bear.”

Sure, they can beat the Memphis Grizzlies, but certainly not an actual bear. This might just be one of the few times when everyone reacting was in agreement on a topic.

The Lakers Could Win It All In 2023-24

While I don’t like the chances of a lot of these players in fights against animals, I would give them a chance of hoisting that Larry O’Brien trophy come the end of the 2023-24 campaign. The Lakers made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals this past season, and I wouldn’t put it past them to go a couple of steps further this time around.

For starters, I expect the two superstars to play at a high level. LeBron James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game last season and despite him being 38 years old, I expect him to put up similar numbers.

Davis, meanwhile, put up 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game in 2022-23, in what was his best season since his first as a Laker. As long as these two remain healthy, the Lakers have a chance, as they’ve got a very good supporting cast around them in Reaves, Hachimura, and Vanderbilt to name a few.

Another thing working in their favor is continuity, as a lot of the key pieces from last season are back. They also get a proper preseason under their belt, which should further help matters on the court. GM Rob Pelinka is confident about the Lakers’ title chances after their busy offseason, and there is good reason for that.
